Three lamps are tested and certified for use with all IKON.IQ gel systems: the CND LED lamp, the SUN2C and the SUN3. Any of them will cure our gels and gel polishes correctly. We no longer supply lamps ourselves — buy direct from the manufacturer's official website to avoid counterfeits, or use a certified lamp you already own.
Use mode 2B. The CND lamp has four preset mode buttons, each intended for a different product type — you press the button rather than setting a time, and the lamp runs its own cycle. Mode 2B is the setting we tested and certified with IKON.IQ gels.
Yes. The SIRIUS-48W we supplied was a private-labelled SUN2C, so it shares the same specifications. Keep using it with the curing times shown on each product page. When you replace it, the SUN2C or SUN3 are direct equivalents.
The SUN2C and SUN3 both have a low heat mode, which reduces the heat spike some clients feel on thin or damaged nails. The CND lamp has no explicitly labelled low heat setting.
No — and the gap is wider than most technicians expect. Published research has measured up to a 26-fold difference in output between lamps. A lamp that under-cures leaves uncured monomer on the nail.
Reactions attributed to the lamp are usually caused by uncured monomer left behind when a gel or gel polish hasn't fully cured — not by the UV light. Matching a certified lamp to your gel system, and curing for the full time, is what prevents it.
