What changed in February 2026
US import rules changed again on 24 February 2026. The headline points for American customers:
• The de minimis exemption (the old $800 duty-free threshold) remains suspended for every country. Every parcel entering the US, regardless of value, now has to clear a formal customs entry.
• The previous emergency tariffs (issued under IEEPA) were struck down by the US Supreme Court on 20 February 2026.
• They were immediately replaced by a temporary 10% Section 122 surcharge on almost all imports, effective 24 February 2026. This surcharge is currently set to expire on 24 July 2026 unless Congress extends it.
In practice this means the customs duties and processing fees that have applied since August 2025 are now slightly higher, and every shipment still needs a formal entry — there is no longer a “small-parcel” shortcut.
What this means for your order
When we ship from Germany to the United States, the typical charges on a parcel are now:
• 10% Section 122 surcharge on the declared value of the goods.
• Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) of 0.3464% of value, with a minimum of $33.58 per shipment. On smaller orders this minimum is what applies.
• Standard customs duty for the product category. For nail cosmetics this is usually low or zero, but it still has to be formally assessed.
As a rough guide, a $150 order currently attracts around $45–$55 in combined US fees. The exact figure is set by the US Customs office that clears your parcel and cannot be predicted to the cent.

• We ship your order with other customers’ orders in batched shipments every 1–2 weeks
• We cover all US import fees for you (no additional cost)
• We handle the customs side ourselves
• Best when you can wait a little longer and would rather pay nothing extra
